Quality Technician

SUMMARY: The Quality Technician is responsible for performing the required inspection operations based on the job traveler and quality criteria throughout the manufacturing process, including receiving, in-process, final, and product release. In addition, the Quality Technician will provide support under the direction of the Quality Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes the following but other duties may be assigned)

• Perform and document all inspections, based on the Quality Inspection plans
• Inspect to the AQL / C=0 sampling plan provided
• Perform 1st article layouts, when required
• Assist in calibration, when needed
• Perform gage R&R tasks, capability studies, Minitab analysis when required
• Assist in problem solving – root cause analysis
• Assist in creating/updating all documents required for a DMR - Control Plans, PFMEAs, Inspection Criteria, Work Instructions, Process Specifications, Custom Gaging, Capability Studies, GR&R studies, Contact Material lists for specific products, or any other items as directed by the Quality Engineer

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assist with validation activities, under the direction of the Quality Engineer, as needed
• Assist with additional tasks that may be required from other departments as time allows
• Assist with Trending of Metrics as directed by Quality Management
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance from the Quality Engineer
• Data analysis and document preparation under the direction of a Quality Engineer, as needed

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma, or equivalent, required
• Basic computer skills
• Good organization skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using gauging, such as mics, calipers, comparators, height and thread gauges, vision systems
• 1-2 years' inspection experience, preferred

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Experience with inspection of medical devices, preferred
• Certified Quality Inspector (CQT-ASQ), preferred
• Proficient with GD&T and blueprint reading, preferred
